Detmold Dogs

Editor’s Note: We know food vendors rock the blocks on American ground, but street food is also the best way to learn about cultures worldwide. With that in mind, we’d love to hear about the street food you encounter in Rio, Montreal, Hong Kong, or wherever you may be. You know what to do – email me at amy@vendr.tv. Today we’re joined by Nora Abousteit, co-founder of BurdaStyle.com, in a video about the nation’s favorite street fare set right in her hometown of Detmold, Germany.

Perhaps the most classic of all street food from my home country of Germany is the sausage. In fact, there are over 1,200 types in Germany, ranging from dry aged sausages to smoked and aged franks. In Detmold, our local sausage is the Detmolder, which is similar to Bockwurst.
