Man Bites Dog is a fun, new cart in Austin, TX that takes the traditional dog out for a walk. Sure you can order a regular frank, but with combinations like The Abe Froman, Red Hot and Bleu, and today’s recipe: The Bird Dog, why would you ever! Be sure to pay them a visit next time you’re in Texas.

THE BIRD DOG

Ingredients

  • 1 Awesome Hot Dog Bun
  • Chicken Sausage
  • Pesto Mayo (half mayo / half basil pesto)
  • 1/3 cup white vinegar
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 tsp dry mustard
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 15oz can yellow whole kernel corn
  • 1/4 cup diced onion
  • 4 tbsp diced red & green pepper

Directions

  • Combine vinegar, sugar, mustard, garlic powder and onion in pan, and bring
    to a simmer.
  • Add peppers and corn and stir for about 10 minutes and
    then, cool.
  • Cook your chicken sausage over the grill or griddle.
  • Assemble by putting the dog in the bun, zig-zagging with mayo, and piling on the relish!
  • Enjoy!
