I used to work at 20th and Market and LOVED his falaffel sandwiches! I live in Canada now and miss his food! I have yet to find anyone who makes such great falaffels! Oh yeah, I was young and pretty and got held up in line waiting cause he wanted to talk to me a long time, so I started sending my guy friends to get me my lunch:) MISS YOU GUS!

Not worth the price anymore. Gus tried to charge 14 dollars for the platter today. That pretty much knocks me out financially. Really Gus? No sign stating a price increase? No prices posted in the first place? So I get to wait in line for the half hour only to be turned away and directed to a MAC machine? Let’s face it. The guy is a chauvenist, egomanaical, control freak. As wonderful as his food may be, it’s just not worth the time and effort anymore. I’m also done listening to this guy rant about how he doesn’t like America. I’ve had nothing but pleasant conversation with him up until now. I’m really shocked and upset to be turned away after being a loyal 3 year customer. I’m also fed up with seeing pretty girls get discounts and long converstations while I’m stuck in line.

Gus is passionate about his food. It said something about his food when 99% of people love his creation which is different everyday…chef's choice. It is rare that people will wait 30 to 45 mins in line for a street vendor…with that said, it is proven that his food is well worth your time in line. Oh the falafel and chicken and everything else is oh sooo good!!

Dan I love your show!! You opened up my taste buds to all these amazing street vendors. Please do more vendors from Philly!

DD, the food is excellent at times, other times its just pretty good.
Call it what you like but it was a bad experience for me today,
and i’m a regular customer of his and i’ve always told people
to go to him!

What happens the day he puts peanuts or fish in your platter and
you’re alergic? you think he’ll give you your money back or may
you a special order?You can forget it! The guy makes some delicious food, but he’s a horrible business man and a pretty crappy individual as well.

I waited nearly 30m for him to set up his cart
Only for him to REFUSE to sell me 2 platters,
Because he claimed he must serve everyone in line
one platter before I can get a second?! I’ve seen him sell multiple
Platters plenty of times…

I’ve been going to his cart for 5 years,
And he knows me. He treats people
Like garbage and gets away with it
Because his food tastes good? No more.

Don’t put up with this guy’s horrible attitude for a plate of
Overcooked chicken and burnt falafel that has way too much
Garlic.

You don’t know what he puts in his dishes and he wont tell
You. You don’t have to take abuse to eat good food,
Go elsewhere

Christos’ is absolutely BRILLIANT food. A good friend introduced me to his cart a few weeks ago and the whole experience — the fabulous charcoal-fired cart, Gus, and the food itself — definitely made my entire day. A must for those in and around Philadelphia. So glad to see Gus featured here! Great job, Dan and company!
