Once and a while I come across a cart that really boosts my spirits, and elevates my perception of street food. Perhaps it was this cart that did that the most for me. East Side King is the “playground” of Paul Qui, chef de cuisine of Uchi Restaurant in Austin, TX. While the food is a few notches above, it’s Paul’s attitude toward the cart that really makes it shine. He’s interested in being playful, experimenting, and having a great time with the cart. The result has been a group of locals that truly love Paul’s product and have come to expect delicious innovation. Awesome!

NEED TO EAT HERE! deep fried beet fries? yes please!
Went there twice during my 4 day stay in Austin. Totally worth seeking out. The chicken karaage was my favourite…and if you’re lucky, they’ll have carrot cake cookies with cream cheese sandwiched between.
oops, the web address link at the bottom of the page is incorrect: it should be http://eastsidekingaustin.com. If tongue is on the menu… order it; you’re taste buds will thank you.
