Hong’s Dumplings (Burlington, VT)

Church Street

We had a great time filming at Hong’s, which we found nestled among trees and stores on Burlington’s Church Street. Owner Hong Yu isn’t kidding when she says she likes big dumplings; they’re massive! With fillings like crab & cream cheese or cheese & chicken, they’re were sinful and delicious. As dumplings are my favorite food, I couldn’t be happier having Hong be the first episode about those plump pouches.

Question!!!

Curious – Where have you had the best chinese food experience?

Good episode! My great-grandma lives in Randolph, VT and we have to go straight through Burlington to get there! I must say, Hong's will have to be a stop on the next trip through! Keep up the good work, guys!

My most favorite chinese food is my local place Golden Phoenix and they have the most teriffic chicken dish; it's dusted with ginger fried up and served with an anise green onion sauce. They call it “mandarin chicken” but it has no orange as many would think

  3. Best Chinese food I would say, San Francisco.
    These dumplings look so good.

Just found your site through Serious Eats! What serendipity! I was captivated with the website and videos. The fact that you featured a vendor from our great Green Mountain State was appreciated! Will pass on information about this site and hope others become fans!

answer to the question, my best chinese food experience(s) is at “Chungs Chinese Resturant in Niles, Ohio honestly this is the best made to order with healthy portions.

in 1991 i became very ill could not eat without getting sick to my stomach. i went to Chungs for some wonton soup and shared with Chung how sick i was. Chung made for me a lobster egg drop soup that not only stayed down and made me feel better soon after i actually had a appetite again. thanks Chung i'll never forget that.
