Nothing screams Cinco de Mayo like Miami, Florida! The heat radiates from the city, just as it does from Latin Burger & Taco, a new gourmet street vendor owned by Food Network & Galavisión star Ingrid Hoffmann and her partner Jim Heins. The truck tours around under the Miami sun serving comfort food with a Latin American flare. In addition to serving great food, Latin Burger also does it’s part in the community by helping to train and employ out of work locals, teaching them the tricks of the trade while they get on their feet.
While there I tried a bunch of her tacos, as well as the Latin Macho, a killer beef and chorizo burger smothered with oaxaca cheese, caramelized onions and jalapenos, and a silky spicy red pepper mayo! Muy bien!
I’m giving away two copies of Ingrid’s cookbook Simply Delicioso. To enter to win, post a comment describing your favorite latin food.

My favorite Latin meal (“food” is too confining!), Cuban meal to be precise, is the cuban version of chicken fried steak (bistec empanizado), cuban beans and rice, and some good old maduros. Now i’m hungry!
love love love latin burger. AMAZING!!
as for favorite latin meal/food….. arroz con pollo.
My favorite Latin meal has to be the Bandeja Paisa. It is a lovely Colombian dish of grilled flank steak, frijoles, rice, chorizo, chicharon (fried pork skin), platanos maduros (sweet) or tostones (fried), topped with a fried egg. With a little hogao for the meat, avocado and a lime wedge to sprinkle over…it is pure heaven! La berraquera!!
It’s hard to choose but at the moment my favorite latin meal is an al pastor gringa, with al pastor right off the spit from los guachos taqueria, with caramelized cheese, avocado cilantro sauce and grilled pineapple they are SO good.
on our way now!
Latin Burger’s macho burger is delicious. My favorite Latin meal is braised ox tail (rabo ensendido) It is amazing
Oh, so much to choose from. Right now, I love arroz con pollo and anything with guacamole.
Growing up in Peru/Argentina, my favorite latin meal was “bistec a caballo” – which is a thin piece of pan seared steak served with white rice topped with a fried egg. So good! I would request this from my parents every day of the week and twice on weekends. Alas, boy cannot live on bistec a caballo alone.
Easily the best burger I have had anywhere. Everytime its near me I go, badass burger.
Chorizo burger? Insane!
Favorite Latin food? That’s quite a range of cuisines. I choose lomo saltado. No, wait…Cuban medianoche sandwich! Or maybe mole negro is better!
Aww, heck… just give me some pupusas con loroco with lots of curtido.
I am so hungry right now.
My fave latin street food would be the Cuban Sandwhich and Empanadas. The cuban sandwhich is very popular in miami you should check it out if your still down there.
As for this episode I wouldnt bunch this with the other vendors you have featured in the past. you cant really call this a real street vendor since its corporate owned and operated by the food network. a true street vendor should be privately owned / mom and pop type setups, not something that has a multi million dollar corporation behind it cause you know they are not in it for thier lively hood only the free publicity reporters like yourself give them.
I was raised in Miami in the 1950’s and now live ouside of Atlantic City. While growing up there I always looked forward to having my favorite, “Seafood Paella”. Love it and miss the Miami style!!
Cinco de Mayo is a Mexican holiday. There aren’t many Mexicans in Miami.
my favorite would have to be albondigas followed by posole. yum!
this latin burger food looks delicious!
