Marked5 is a brand new vending truck in Los Angeles that takes a Japanese spin on traditional burgers by substituting sticky rice for a wheat bun, often called a moss burger.

The truck roams all around LA. When we caught up with them they were parked just off of Venice Beach.

hey dan....how do you pick where you are filming? you seem to be out west a lot how often do you travel east?

Well - we shoot in big chunks in different locations. As a result, you'll be seeing a lot of west coast episodes. However, I live in Brooklyn, NY... so I'm always on the East Coast!

just for clarification's sake, moss burger is the name of a fast-food chain in japan, and not the name of a rice burger. moss burger has an awesome rice burger line, which i assume was the inspiration.

Dan, how much do you actually eat during a review like this? you didn't eat all 4 of those sandwiches yourself, did you?

Haha! No. Generally I'll only take the bites necessary for the camera. We usually have multiple plates ordered for the shoots as we record multiple takes. But it's not uncommon for me to be shooting five episodes in one day! So I most certainly couldn't eat that much. :)

Hey Dan! Good to know about more crazy food in LA! Did you check out the Korean Taco truck too? (guess there is one in NYC now so it's not that exciting anymore) How about Carmela ice cream? If not, stop by the farmers markets next time. You'll be thinking Capo Giro is junk after it!
