Riceballs are fantastic! DonnaRose gave me one for Easter. Pizza Rustica was out of this world. I am going to need to take a ride to NYC to put my order in for food to bring back to NJ.

Loved the addition of Jake and Amir. They didn't interfere too much but were still hilarious. I loved how Dan & Amir's glasses matched. I don't know if it was just me, but it seemed like Amir was kind of going a throwback to that interview with Current Comedy for a bit. [2:49] *shrug*

@ Melissa, I never claimed that I came up with the recipe matter of fact if someone would ask I would tell them how my Aunt sally gave me the recipe. Didn't realize that Aunt Sally is the only person in the world with that recipe. You went and took things to another level with bringing my Father into it and using my mom's name as well. You have shown your true colors if you want I will send you a check for the 30 dollars that I may have made. Remember one thing it's not the Rustica that brings the people to my truck it's the Riceballs, is that your moms as well, and I had it for the week before Easter and stopped it the Tuesday after so you are in a tizzy over nothing. I've been eating Papa Perrone's food since they've been at this location and I agree with Dan the food is awesome. I've had the riceballs, artichoke pie the heros, they were all great but I loved the pizza rustica.
What I don't understand is why this "melissa" is upset about a dish that is inspired by her mother's recipe making so many people happy. You would think she would like to see her cousin do well, I guess some people like to make everything about themselves. John Paul should make the dish a regular item.

It is not the dish that made her angry is was that his aunt was never asked. Sometimes people just want common courtesy is all. A Simple, "hey Aunt Sally, I love it so much, thinking about putting it on my truck " would have been perfect. Not such a big deal about the recipe, it was given to him with love, just sometimes a simple sharing of thoughts would have been nice. And the Gurrieri thing, not so nice, I am a Gurrieri and very proud to be.

@jessica and melissa, if John Paul's pizza rustica was terrible, which it's not, would you still want your mom's name attached to it? The fact is John Paul makes the dish. He's, like every chef, makes the recipe his own because they get the credit or criticism. Where did Sally get the recipe from? Why aren't you giving that person credit? And shouldn't the person that gave it to that person get credit and so on. See how ridiculous and petty this argument is.

@AEB I can not give credit to anyone because my mother created it with her own mind and hands(That recipe, w/ those ingredients) I did NOT ever say my mother invented "the pizza Rustica" And yes I don't care if my cousin made it terrific or horrible, just wanted him to mention or ask my mother. And excuse me Mr.Oulder I happen to think my cousin is a good cook and am proud of him, that wasn't the issue, with all do respect you could go on w/ your opinions and/or comments but I won't be responding to you anymore.My cousin and I already spoke about this issue.

You should show your cousin a little more respect. He is out there breaking his ass in a brutal NYC market and using a RECIPE that you should be so honored and happy he is able to support his family doing so. I also find it distasetful that you mention his family and take a stab at the Zoltowski's. It is obvious that you have too much time and anger for one person. I hope he starts selling it again and adds his own touch to it, calls it his own as all great chefs that take a good recipe and make it great do.

Ok, let's clear up up this matter once and for all.
Nona Perrone gave instructions to ALL the young women (including Aunt Peggy) who were present at all the holiday gatherings. It gave her GREAT joy to SHARE her knowlege and experience in Italian food preparation and would be so PROUD and THRILLED that one of her Great-Grandchildren is using HER receipe and able to make a living from it!! Especially, Johnpaul who resembles her late husband. So, NOBODY can stake claim to this receipe besides Nona, who would be DELIGHTED!!!
