College Humor stars Jake and Amir join Dan for lunch at Papa Perrone’s, a New York truck serving fantastic Sicilian food. The owner, John Paul’s legendary Rice Balls were a bit of a stretch for Amir, who fancies McDonald’s McNuggets for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, but the two enjoyed themselves, as do most that hit up this midtown hotspot.

Haha loved the begin. Amir always ruins it haha
Nice job JayP. I was getting hungry watching
3rd!
Riceballs are fantastic! DonnaRose gave me one for Easter. Pizza Rustica was out of this world. I am going to need to take a ride to NYC to put my order in for food to bring back to NJ.
Good Luck!!!!
the beginning was awkwardly awesome! hahah
OMG! I love Jake & Amir. If I could hang out with anyone, it would be them. haha
Amir. You are the best. Hahahaa cool site too, I dig.
amir, i love you
i just want to know what was the point of those characters in the background –they did nothing for the episode?
Good to know the Pizza Rustica is absolutely perfect.. I should know.. it is my mothers recipe I have eaten it for years.. Good thing John Paul is her nephew !
fancy’s = fancies
nice job ! My mother gave to your mother from her heart just to find out it is being used WITHOUT her consent or permission! SHAME ON YOU JOHNPAUL!!!
A TRUE Perrone you are NOT!!!!!! Because a
TRUE Perrone is an HONEST PERSON,! Your Father would be very disappointed and angry that you would stoop so low and falsely advertise
HIS sister’s (MY MOTHER’S) recipe as his own!!!! SHAME ON YOU JOHNPAUL!!!!!!!!!! You must take after the other side because you sure are NO PERRONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Anything for an extra buck, Is that how it goes JohnPaul!!
Maybe you should consider changing the name of your truck From Papa(that’s a laugh)Perrone’s TO “Zoltowski’s Swine Shack”!!!!!!!!!!
That was entertaining :] I enjoyed it. Made me really hungry, though…
Loved the addition of Jake and Amir. They didn’t interfere too much but were still hilarious. I loved how Dan & Amir’s glasses matched. I don’t know if it was just me, but it seemed like Amir was kind of going a throwback to that interview with Current Comedy for a bit. [2:49] *shrug*
Anywho, great vid!
You should have acknowledged my mother and called it “Aunt Sally’s Pizza Rustica!!!
nice going johnpaul! you are a real class act taking my mother’s recipe and selling it w/out her consent !!
what kind of nephew are you???
Jake & Amir are hilarious. I should watch more of those guys, every time I see one of their skits I find it hysterical. This is my most recent favorite:

That guy John Paul is awesome. I love the character people tend to have on the East Coast. I really need to take a trip out there.
Great episode…..it wouldn’t hurt to be a *little* longer….it’s just that I wouldn’t mind seeing more
this is the first time i’ve watched this and its pretty good.
although i’m used to calling the ‘rice balls’ arancinis, but everybody has different family names for stuff so whatevs. looks delicious, i’ll have to go there sometime
Are Amir and Dan brothers?
Way to go JP not only would your father be proud of you, he’d be right by your side. This is why I keep to myself, your own family should be encouraging you not bashing. Besides all these recipes came from Nona and their handed down no one has the right to claim them as there own but Nona and she’d be happy that some of her great grandchildern are doing something commendable ALL MY LOVE TO YOU AND YOUR FAMILY Brandy
CONGRADULATIONS!!! Doing big things Kid. You know we got your back Cuz..
Best Food in the city… yooo How bout them riceballs…
Much love Jr
I thought Amir only ate chicken nuggets!
@ Melissa, I never claimed that I came up with the recipe matter of fact if someone would ask I would tell them how my Aunt sally gave me the recipe. Didn’t realize that Aunt Sally is the only person in the world with that recipe. You went and took things to another level with bringing my Father into it and using my mom’s name as well. You have shown your true colors if you want I will send you a check for the 30 dollars that I may have made. Remember one thing it’s not the Rustica that brings the people to my truck it’s the Riceballs, is that your moms as well, and I had it for the week before Easter and stopped it the Tuesday after so you are in a tizzy over nothing. You are a very angry person, last I checked your last name is Gurrieri not Perrone and we know the history there or should I display it on this site. I even tried to call Aunt Sally this morning but she was very rude as usual and hung up. WAKE UP PEOPLE ITS A PIE. I have bigger fish to fry ( notice the food reference) C YA
I’ve been eating Papa Perrone’s food since they’ve been at this location and I agree with Dan the food is awesome. I’ve had the riceballs, artichoke pie the heros, they were all great but I loved the pizza rustica.
What I don’t understand is why this “melissa” is upset about a dish that is inspired by her mother’s recipe making so many people happy. You would think she would like to see her cousin do well, I guess some people like to make everything about themselves. John Paul should make the dish a regular item.
It is not the dish that made her angry is was that his aunt was never asked. Sometimes people just want common courtesy is all. A Simple, “hey Aunt Sally, I love it so much, thinking about putting it on my truck ” would have been perfect. Not such a big deal about the recipe, it was given to him with love, just sometimes a simple sharing of thoughts would have been nice. And the Gurrieri thing, not so nice, I am a Gurrieri and very proud to be.
No more comments from me.. really we could just use a phone lol .
@ Brandy and Ray Ray Thank You.
@ Jessi this whole thing is ridiculous who is she John Gotti that I need to ask for her blessing. For the love of God your sister took it way too far and now I have seen the real Missy. I personally don’t care yet my mom was very upset at what she said, and she was way out of line, a little bit. Tell John Gotti I won’t do anything unless I talk to her first . Iam just done with this petty bullshit
@jessica and melissa, if John Paul’s pizza rustica was terrible, which it’s not, would you still want your mom’s name attached to it? The fact is John Paul makes the dish. He’s, like every chef, makes the recipe his own because they get the credit or criticism. Where did Sally get the recipe from? Why aren’t you giving that person credit? And shouldn’t the person that gave it to that person get credit and so on. See how ridiculous and petty this argument is.
Great food John Paul
Papa Perrone’s Riceballs are delicious. I can’t get enough of them.
@AEB I can not give credit to anyone because my mother created it with her own mind and hands(That recipe, w/ those ingredients) I did NOT ever say my mother invented “the pizza Rustica” And yes I don’t care if my cousin made it terrific or horrible, just wanted him to mention or ask my mother. And excuse me Mr.Oulder I happen to think my cousin is a good cook and am proud of him, that wasn’t the issue, with all do respect you could go on w/ your opinions and/or comments but I won’t be responding to you anymore. My cousin and I already spoke about this issue.
@EVERONE :no more action on my side, sorry!!
Melissa Gurrieri,
You should show your cousin a little more respect. He is out there breaking his ass in a brutal NYC market and using a RECIPE that you should be so honored and happy he is able to support his family doing so. I also find it distasetful that you mention his family and take a stab at the Zoltowski’s. It is obvious that you have too much time and anger for one person. I hope he starts selling it again and adds his own touch to it, calls it his own as all great chefs that take a good recipe and make it great do.

[...] seeing families fight is your thing, you’ll want to check out the comments section of the Papa Perrone video post on the VendrTV website. Apparently a cousin is very angry that her mom wasn’t given credit for the truck’s [...]
@melissa gurrieri… wow. grow up. Your cousin’s work is derivative of your mother’s work which is derivative of somebody else’s work. Your argument is completely ridiculous.
Ok, let’s clear up up this matter once and for all.
Nona Perrone gave instructions to ALL the young women (including Aunt Peggy) who were present at all the holiday gatherings. It gave her GREAT joy to SHARE her knowlege and experience in Italian food preparation and would be so PROUD and THRILLED that one of her Great-Grandchildren is using HER receipe and able to make a living from it!! Especially, Johnpaul who resembles her late husband. So, NOBODY can stake claim to this receipe besides Nona, who would be DELIGHTED!!!
Aunt JoAnn
nice episode fellas. looks like you all had a great time!
Thanks for the blog loaded with so many information. Stopping by your blog helped me to get what I was looking for.

Wow! So much squabbling! Now i have to try the food. Too bad no one says where its located, ANYWHERE. Life is too short to argue over anything.
