New England is full of these small, whole in the wall greasy spoons establishments. Full of local charm and flavor that comes from years of community support, hard work, and most importantly awesome food. The Clam Shack in Kennebunkport is exactly that! For years this roadside landmark has been dishing out wildly fresh fried clams to hungry locals and tourists alike. What many people don’t know, is that they have one of the freshest lobster rolls in all of Maine! This is due mostly to the fact that they do all the cooking and prepping of their lobster on premises. The result, a fresh lobster roll, served with mayo on a buttered New England style hot dog roll.

Good tip! Not sure we can adhere to it, because we often don't have so much content, but it's something worth considering.

I think smeltzer24 might be on to something. Perhaps you could include seasonal information if the cart you're showcasing has seasonal hours. Here in Madison, WI, for instance, it gets too cold in the winter for our carts to operate.

As an aside, I have never been to Maine. The more I see and read about the seafood there, the more I want to go!

The Clam Shack is awesome. I have eaten there when in Maine and it's food can't be beat. Jwink commented on the prices, but they are in line with the price of lobster and clams in Kennebunkport. Since they are the BEST, there's no problem paying the price for such great food. At this place you really do get what you pay for. The lobster roll has the meat of a 1lb lobster in it…most lobster rolls don't have near that amount of meat nor are they as fresh.

The full belly clams – not strips – are the best in the known universe. We will soon be making a five-hour pilgrimage from upstate NY to celebrate the approach of summer at the Clam Shack!

I have been eating at the clam shack since I was a young girl. My dad would send my over with a $20 while he scraped and painted his lobster boat in the boatyard. Now, $20 won’t buy you much at the Clam Shack. I believe the owners are from Mass. and their prices have always been the steepest in town for clams. But delicious? Yes.
