Cosmetic Surgeries And Injectables In The World Of Celebs

Cosmetic Surgeries And Injectables In The World Of Celebs

It’s no secret that many of our favourite celebrities have used some sort of cosmetic surgery or injectables to achieve their desired look, and with the finances and influence they have we can almost gain a glimpse into the future of the attitude towards cosmetic surgeries and injectables. Now that the taboo has dropped in Hollywood many stars are opening up about what they have used or still use, so let’s look at who’s using what and why.

Tyra Banks

A beacon of mid-2000s empowerment, in 2018 Tyra opened up about the rhinoplasty she had early on in her career and was quoted saying “I had bones in my nose that were growing and itching. I could breathe fine, but I added cosmetic surgery.”. She’s gone on to promote the idea that women should feel comfortable in flaunting what they’ve got or fixing it if they’ve got insecurities about it.

Ariel Winter

Many of us remember Ariel from the beloved show Modern Family as the sweet young Alex Dunphy, but many of us weren’t aware of the pain that she was going through with her gigantomastia. In 2015, Ariel Winter opened up about how her breast reduction surgery and how much that has improved her quality of life, reducing not only the awkwardness of trying to find clothes which fit her, but also the pain that came with standing for long periods of time.

Sharon Osbourne

Far from shy of discussing her cosmetic surgeries, Osbourne was quoted in 2016 that she was on “face three and counting”. She’s opened up to People about how she processed all the surgeries, including an abdominoplasty (tummy tuck), a few face-lifts, liposuction, and much more. For anyone looking for inspiration in becoming at one with the changes you can choose to make in your own body, Sharon is your girl.

Kaley Cuoco

The Big Bang Theory star Kaley Cuoco claims her rhinoplasty and breast augmentation were the best things she ever did, along with lip fillers. She has been quoted saying “As much as you want to love your inner self, I’m sorry, you also want to look good,” she said. “I don’t think you should do it for a man or anyone else, but if it makes you feel confident, that’s amazing.”

Chrissy Teigan

Another celeb who has never been shy about letting people get a glimpse into her life, including the less than glamorous parts, like altitude sickness and rashes. Back in 2019 she spoke out about getting Botox in her armpits, which has been proven to help stop excessive sweating. Beyond that she’s also revealed she has also had liposuction treatment to her pits, adding length to her arms. This year she has been documenting the process of getting her breast implants removed, and was quoted saying “They’ve been great to me for many years but I’m just over it, I’d like to be able to zip a dress in my size, lay on my belly with pure comfort!”

Cindy Crawford

This model boasts a balance between a healthy lifestyle and cosmetic surgery, she was quoted saying “I have a very simple, healthy life, which works miracles. I drink a lot of water, watch what I eat, and exercise… but I owe the quality of my skin to my cosmetic surgeon.” Perhaps this attitude of the “middle path” as the Buddhists might call it, is the future of cosmetics.

The Other Side

While it’s important to look at all the benefits that cosmetic surgery has brought to celebrities, I believe it’s also important to look at the other side of it all.

Courteney Cox

In 2017, Friends star Courteney Cox revealed that she’d had all her fillers dissolved, claiming “I’m as natural as I can be. I feel better because I look like myself,”. I believe this shows a healthy return to her natural self, and while cosmetic surgery and botox may help some people feel more like themselves, sometimes it’s important to go the other direction.

K. Michelle

This R&B singer is a prime example of the dark side of cosmetic surgery, which pertains to who you go to for your treatment. Falling for the black-market of cosmetic surgery, Michelle had silicone filler in her thighs and bum. For five years these injections gave her no problems until in 2017 she began to experience pain through her legs, which doctors attributed to the silicone previously injected spreading through them. She’s since gone through several bouts of silicone injection removal but is not finding it an easy process. Any kind of botched injection removal tends to be substantially more difficult than the injection itself, especially when done outside of a medical practice.

Tori Spelling

Beverly Hills 90210 star and mother of five, Tori Spelling, opened up in 2011 to Good Morning America saying she regretted getting her breast implants, stating “Well I got my boobs done in my early 20’s and if I had known it would or could possibly impact production of milk, I would never had had them done,”. Perhaps an example of how these decisions at such a young age can go on to affect the life we never expect ourselves to be living.

Heidi Montag

Famous (or perhaps infamous) in the world of cosmetic surgery for going through 10 cosmetic surgeries in one day. Hills star Heidi Montag now admits she was in over her head and ill-informed about all the repercussions that come with that many enhancements, especially at once. She’s since been quoted saying “I was definitely way in over my head. I’m glad it worked out and you can’t really reverse time,”.

Joan Rivers

The late Joan Rivers was in her time the queen of plastic surgeries, most of which she says she loved. Although she wasn’t happy with the results of her liposuction, stating “I didn’t check out the doctor and the result wasn’t smooth”. Another absolute testimony to the importance of finding the right doctor who knows exactly what they’re doing.

I hope reading this has shone some light on the world of celebrity cosmetic surgery and injectables, and given a balanced idea of both the good and bad that has come out of their own personal experiences.
